About Bregina

Handicrafts Are in My Blood

I learned to knit from my grandfather (pake) at the age of 4. He was the most patient member of the family, and before long, the first doll clothes were coming off my needles. To this day, my love for knitting has never faded. And it’s not just knitting—I also enjoy crocheting, embroidery, felting, spinning, and essentially any craft involving handwork. I’m always ready to take on a new challenge.

Wool Shop ’t Voorpand

For the past seven years, I worked at the wool shop ’t Voorpand. I discovered the shop early on as a customer and found myself visiting more and more frequently. One day, Caroline, the owner, asked if I’d like to fill in for someone. That marked the beginning of a wonderful chapter—I helped Caroline with great passion and joy, not only in the shop but also at craft fairs and other wool-related events. I have incredibly fond memories of that time.

While working at ’t Voorpand, I gained a wealth of knowledge. I learned new techniques, such as Fair Isle knitting, and had the chance to experiment with various brands of wool. That’s how I fell in love with Knoll Supersoft and Soft Donegal—gorgeous colors, delightful textures, and perfect for Fair Isle projects.

When ’t Voorpand announced it was closing, Caroline suggested I continue working with the Knoll yarns. And so, I did! Through craft fairs and wool events, I’ve met many wonderful, creative people, including Jan-Herman Lamers from Kleurenlab. Together, we’ve built a strong collaboration, designing and creating Fair Isle patterns. We also love organizing knitting weekends, which bring even more joy to this shared passion.
